My new favourite program…Green Acres!

I just discovered this series!  Green Acres was on the air from 1965 – 1971 but the content and humour is very contemporary. It was Farm to Table before its time. A Manhattan couple moves from their Upper East Side penthouse apartment to a 160-acre farm in Hooterville.  Yes, that was before its time too!

Before they purchased this farm, they tested their farming skills with a balcony farm! Yes, before its time! This was “container gardening”. Below is a picture taken from the first program.  I don’t know if this is legal but I will contact MGM Home Entertainment LLC for copyright permission for use of these pictures….taken from my television.

It is really fun and easy to watch, and alittle addictive. Very genius and original.  It’s in the genre of Giligan’s Island, I Dream of Jeannie, Brady Bunch and Beverly Hillbillies…clean fun.

The two main characters are likeable and they dress really well on the farm.
